Cadillac has officially confirmed the launch of its new Escalade IQ, which comes with a price tag worth $130,000. According to certain reports, the vehicle boasts a battery capacity of 200kWh, while simultaneously delivering 750 horsepower and up to 785 lb-ft of torque. This power is notably birthed by IQ’s dual-motor “eAWD” system that operates as individual powertrains. Deemed as “GM’s most aerodynamic full-size SUV ever”, the IQ is able to clock 450 miles of range. However, the feature which needs a bigger mention here is the vehicle’s knowhow in terms of facilitating one-pedal driving, something that is complimented with a regenerative braking functionality. Anyway, the all-new Escalade IQ will be unveiled in two different models i.e. Luxury and Sport. The former iteration is expected to include metallic brushed aluminum finishes on the wheels, moldings, and other exterior areas. The Sport model, on the other hand, is given dark metal design touches. Although the latter still has the common black finish on the offer, there are six other paint options available, including a dual-tone one that blacks out the roof. Talk about having options, we have four different interior themes to pick and choose from, and this is irrespective of which exterior trim is actually purchased. Moving beyond exterior, the car’s interior brings ambient lighting which can be easily adjusted to 126 different color choices. Of course, not just fancy lights, the IQ also puts some cutting-edge technology in the mix, considering it is equipped with a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar LED screen. The stated screen, in turn, is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 12 Cockpit Platform, and as far as connectivity is concerned, it uses the Cadillac’s 5G modem. Then, we have Google-backed navigation capabilities that hand you an uninterrupted access of Google Maps, hands-free commands via Google Assistant, charging station information, and Google Play app support. Hold on, we aren’t done yet. The IQ features GM’s Super Cruise advanced driver-assist system (ADAS). Such a system promises you a prospect of hands-free driving on over 400,000 miles of mapped highways across the US and Canada. While it will be bundled up with the vehicle as part of OnStar, the owners have to purchase a subscription after three years, if they are to keep using the technology. Another facet focused on enhancing your driving experience is the four-wheel steering “Arrival Mode” feature which is similar to the GMC Hummer EV’s crab walk mode. Surely, the feature in Escalade’s case is concerned with getting into and out of tight parking spaces, but it does have some value to provide during a standard drive as well. You see, this is because it gives IQ better stability at high speeds, and towing ability of upto 8,000 pounds. It also decreases the turning diameter at low speeds by turning wheels on each axle in opposing directions.

For comfort, the IQ has Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, which gives the vehicle millisecond suspension response time to road bumps. In case that doesn’t sound like comfortable enough, you can even order the special executive second-row seating option which delivers greater number of amenities at your disposal. The list includes stowaway trays, 12.6-inch rear personal screens, a “command center” screen to control stuff like doors, dual wireless phone chargers, ports for HDMI and USB-C, and massaging seats that include speakers in the headrest. Staying on the point of speakers, the Escalade IQ has a 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system and can be upgraded to a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference option. The executive package holders, however, can also upgrade to a 40-speaker version that includes 360-degree “immersive” audio. Not just the owner, the car in question also looks after the people around them. This can be understood once you acknowledge it leverages an automatic emergency braking technology to reduce the risk of harming any pedestrians. Furthermore, thanks to its HD Surround Vision system, the vehicle can afford drivers high-quality camera feeds in any direction to avoid people and objects. There is also a Blind Zone Steering Assist to get drivers back in their lane when switching to another without realizing there’s a car in the way.

The new IQ comes with a CCS charging port, which holds 800-volt worth of power and takes only about 10 minutes to prepare your car for traveling 100 miles at the very least.
